Apply for an internship

As students progress through their secondary education, they crave opportunities to influence current events and community issues. enFocus seeks to expose the best minds in local universities to challenging industry business problems, acting as a catalyst for the upcoming Millenial workforce to think about societal innovation and entreprenuership early and often.

Accepting summer internship applications through February 9, 2020

The enFocus fellowship is designed to create a sustainable ecosystem of innovation and impact. We place Fellows on projects that will have a lasting impact for the sponsor organization. While working on projects, Fellows receive mentorship from enFocus Directors and Board members, which accelerates Fellow growth and maximizes the return on investment for sponsors.

enFocus Internships
Summer Internship Program

Our summer internship is an 8-week program that brings together interns from around the country to work on impactful community projects in South Bend-Elkhart, Indiana. enFocus summer interns are paid to work alongside Fellows on innovation projects for sponsor organizations in the education, government, healthcare, for profit, and nonprofit sectors. Each year, we hire a diverse team of interns and match them on projects based on their experience and interests.

The summer internship program allows interns to work on at least two projects throughout the summer—one as a lead on an innovation project and one as a team member on a group innovation project. In addition, professional development opportunities, including a speaker series from regional business leaders, are provided throughout the summer.

Fall/Spring Semester Internships

enFocus offers Fall and Spring semester internships opportunities based on the needs of our sponsored community projects. Because our projects vary from semester to semester, we ask interested students to apply to our online application early in the year. We then keep your application on file and follow up with you when we have a semester internship opportunity that matches your background and interests.

Fall and Spring semester interns must be able to commit at least 8 hours per week and be available to work on site in South Bend-Elkhart, Indiana. Although our project needs are always changing, common skills/experience that interns possess are: strong research skills, ability to analyze data, business acumen, good interpersonal skills, interest or experience in one of our client sectors: education, government, healthcare, nonprofit, and private/for profit businesses.
